I do. Refresh is me — I quote the job, I do the job, and I'm the one you call afterwards if something isn't right. I'm on site for every job. You get me, not someone sent in my place.

You fill in the form and I call you shortly after — usually within the hour during work hours. We go through the job on that call and I arrange your quote. If you're happy with it, we book a date that suits you. It's me on the phone the whole way through, not a call centre.

They're two different tools for two different jobs. High pressure is for hard surfaces — concrete, driveways, paths, pavers. Soft washing barely uses pressure at all; a treatment does the work instead, and that's what render, painted walls, limestone and Colorbond need. Putting high pressure on a soft surface is how surfaces get damaged.

Low pressure and the right treatment, left to do its job, then rinsed off. The pressure is around what a garden hose puts out, not what a pressure washer does. It kills the growth instead of blasting the surface, which is why it works on things high pressure would damage.

No — it's alive. The green is algae; the black is what builds on top of it once it's established. It roots down into the surface rather than sitting on it, which is why a hose does almost nothing and why it comes back so quickly. Shaded, damp areas cop it worst.

Not if it's cleaned the right way. Limestone, render, painted walls and Colorbond are soft washed — low pressure only. Those surfaces are soft and porous, and high pressure will eat into them, strip the finish, or drive water in behind. Concrete and pavers are hard enough to take pressure. Matching the method to the surface is essential to a great outcome.

No. The garden gets wetted down before I start and rinsed off again after. That's standard on every job, not something you need to ask for. Once it's rinsed off, it's safe.

No. I only need access to the area and a garden tap.

Areas need to be clear of loose items, however I can accommodate some things. It's job dependent. We'll discuss what's needed before booking the job.

Yes — up to three storeys, and mostly from the ground. Soft washing reaches height without dragging a pressure hose up a ladder, which is safer for the building and safer for me.

For cleaning on its own, yes — the surface is getting soaked either way. If your job includes sealing, rain in the forecast moves the whole job to another day. Sealing goes down the same day as the clean and needs clear weather to cure, and I don't come back later to seal — a surface left unsealed starts picking the growth back up straight away.

Yes — and it's always the same day as the clean. Sealing a surface while it's properly clean is what makes the result last years instead of months. If rain is possible the whole job moves to another day; I don't come back later to seal. I only use transparent penetrating sealers, so there's no change to how the surface looks — it just stops the dirt and growth getting a hold again.

It depends far more on where the surface is than on how long it's been. A shaded, damp spot under trees needs doing again long before an open driveway in full sun. The growth starts coming back almost straight away, but it can be years before it looks bad enough to bother you. Sealing stretches that out.

You can, and on a small area it might be worth it. Two things catch people out. The first is time — a hire or home machine moves a fraction of what a commercial one does, so a job that takes me a few hours can swallow your whole weekend. The second is the finish: getting an even result across a big area is harder than it looks, and stripe marks and patchy sections don't wash out. Add in etched concrete or stripped paint from too much pressure in the wrong spot and the saving's gone.
